Event Calendar

Our cooking classes are hands-on events where everyone participates. We work hard to make sure our guests learn more than just how to prepare a few dishes; we try to give everyone the confidence to experiment at home and a deeper understanding of the science behind cooking.

Our classes are great to attend as a group with family and friends, or to sign up for individually and meet others who share your passion for cooking.  Classes range in size from 24-34 students and include a family style meal at the end of the class. Our cooking classes also make fabulous gifts!

Knife Skills  

Do you cringe when you see a cleaver? Wish your Wusthof worked on its own? You’re not alone! This class will help you do away with your knife anxieties and teach you the basics of cutting and chopping. Here, you’ll learn the parts of a knife, purposes for common knives, and basic knife cuts to improve your speed and precision when cooking at home. At the end of the class your hard work will pay off with a delicious meal, centered around a pasta dish made with the vegetables you’ll have cut, and finished with goat cheese and fresh basil.  Beverages will be available for purchase before the class from our retail store. Bar set up will be provided.

Pasta Making Techniques  

Ever wonder how good restaurants have such delicious, light pasta?  The secret is fresh made!  Roll up your sleeves and come join us for a hands-on class where we’ll teach you how to make homemade pasta from scratch paired with quick, tasty sauces. Sushi for Lovers  

An evening with fresh raw fish can be more romantic and fun than you think. Come join us and learn the basics of hand made sushi and enjoy an intimate candlelit meal. In the first part of this event, you will receive hands-on instruction for both sushi maki and nigiri sushi, before putting your newly acquired skills to use and creating a delicious spread of sushi to enjoy with your partner. After the cooking session, you will sit down to a delicious dinner, featuring the fruits of your labor and some special treats prepared by your instructors. Tamale Making  

Travel south of the border and learn how to prepare traditional tamale masa (dough), make both chicken and vegetarian fillings, and fill a dozen tamales exactly how you like them. Once the tamales are in the steamer, you will prepare three styles of salsas that will quickly find their way into your kitchen repertoire. You will also learn the secret to making the perfect Mexican style rice and the meal will be rounded out with a crisp green salad alongside a cilantro citrus vinaigrette.  Grab a Tecate with lime - on special for $2.00 during the class - and get ready for one tasty dinner. You will make plenty of tamales to take home and enjoy after the class as well. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be available for purchase before the class from our retail store. Sauces for Healthy Eating
We constantly receive questions from home cooks about how to make sauces to complement everyday meals. We all have experienced how a particular condiment or sauce can transform a good dish to a really great, memorable one. But let’s face it, classic butter and cream based sauces popular on restaurant menus are great indulgences, but are not appropriate for regular, everyday healthy dining.

Come join us in a hands-on treatment of alternatives to traditional sauces. Experience the fresh, clean taste of pestos, relishes, salsas, chutneys and vegetable coulees, all made without high saturated fats. Our focus will be on items that can be made quickly at home to complement simply prepared meats, fish and poultry, as well as their use in vegetarian dishes. Wine and beer will be available for purchase by the glass.

Mother's Day Brunch

Join us for a hands-on brunch cooking event that will treat your Mom to a special one-of-a-kind experience. We will start with a refreshing and complimentary Mimosa toast, because there is no better way to honor our Mothers than having a drink before noon. You will then learn how to prepare our twists on time-honored favorites like Stuffed French Toast, Tortilla Espanol, our delicious Homemade Turkey Breakfast Sausage, and more.
