Our cooking classes are hands-on events where everyone participates. Most classes are limited to 12 students and include a tasting in the kitchen or a family style meal at the end of the class. Our events make fabulous gifts! As times are tough, the gift of learning to cook and eat at home is priceless.

Thursday, September 2, 2010 Freshly prepared fish is a favorite of many, but few tackle preparing it at home. We will show you basic techniques of fish cookery that will enable you to prepare fish for you and your family and friends. Grill, sear, poach, steam and fry fresh fish, and learn which fish are best suited for each cooking method. This is a great class for people that want to include more fish dishes in their diet. Beer and wine will be available for purchase by the glass.

In this class, you will learn basic scratch techniques for making sweets instead of turning to pre packaged, processed and often mediocre mixes. See how easy and economical it is to make great cookies, brownies, pie dough, frosting and more. You will be amazed at how simple and fun these treats are to make once you know how. Wednesday, September 22, 2010 Learn how to prepare succulent, melt in your mouth meat and poultry dishes that have become the foundation of comfort foods in so many cultures. This class starts with a discussion of the food science behind the perfect braise, followed by a totally hands on class braising four types of meats. We’ll conclude with a family style meal of Lamb Tacos, Chinese Red Cooked Chicken, Pineapple BBQ Pork Shoulder Sandwiches and Mom’s Pot Roast Spaghetti. Also, everyone in the class will get a couple of items that they can take home to braise in their own kitchens. Beer and wine will be available for purchase by the glass. Sign up at least one week before the class to ensure your spot. All classes must be paid for in advance. Cancellations must be made at least 10 days prior to the class to receive credit towards a future class, no exceptions.
Your registration is a commitment to attend the class. Classes are non-refundable. Any changes must be made at least ten days prior to the class for a transfer to another available class. You may send someone in your place if you are unable to meet the cancellation deadline. No cancellations will be accepted if made after the cancellation deadline.
